Configuration¶

This guide explains how to configure Asset Optics for your workflow, including account settings, project configuration, and advanced options.

Account Settings¶

Access your account settings from the web dashboard at asset-optics.brahmaforge.com.

Accessing Settings¶

Sign in to the web dashboard
Click your profile avatar in the top-right corner
Select Account Settings

Profile Settings¶

Update your basic profile information:

Display Name: How your name appears in comments and activity
Email: Your registered email address (from Google sign-in)
Avatar: Choose from available avatars or upload your own

Notification Preferences¶

Control when and how you receive notifications:

Email Notifications: Receive emails for important updates
In-App Notifications: See notifications in the plugin and web app
Notification Types:
Task assignments
Comment mentions
Milestone deadlines
Plan approvals (MCP)

Project Settings¶

Configure settings for each project.

Accessing Project Settings¶

From Unreal Engine:

Open Asset Optics
Click the gear icon in the header
Select Project Settings

From Web Dashboard:

Open your project
Click Settings in the sidebar

General Settings¶

Project Name: Update the display name
Description: Add a description for your project
Visibility: Public or private (team features coming soon)

Milestone Defaults¶

Configure default settings for new milestones:

Default State: Initial state for new milestones (Planned)
Auto-Progress: Automatically update progress based on task completion

Task Defaults¶

Configure default settings for new tasks:

Default Priority: Initial priority for new tasks (Medium)
Default Status: Initial status column (Todo)

API Access¶

For MCP and custom integrations.

MCP Tokens¶

See MCP Setup Guide for detailed instructions.

API Tokens¶

Generate API tokens for custom integrations:

Go to Account Settings → API Access
Click Generate API Token
Give the token a descriptive name
Copy the token (it won't be shown again)

Token Permissions¶

API tokens have the same permissions as your account:

Read and write access to your projects
Create, update, delete tasks and milestones
Manage asset links and comments

Revoking Tokens¶

To revoke an API token:

Go to Account Settings → API Access
Find the token in the list
Click Revoke
Confirm the revocation

Data and Privacy¶

Data Storage¶

Your data is stored securely:

Cloud Storage: Projects, tasks, and milestones are stored in our secure cloud
Encryption: All data is encrypted in transit and at rest
Backups: Regular automated backups

Data Export¶

Export your project data:

Open a project in the web dashboard
Go to Settings → Export
Choose export format (JSON)
Click Export

Account Deletion¶

To delete your account and all data:

Go to Account Settings → Privacy
Click Delete Account
Confirm by typing your email
Your account and all data will be permanently deleted

Keyboard Shortcuts¶

Shortcut	Action
`Ctrl+R` / `Cmd+R`	Refresh current view
Triple-click refresh	Force hard refresh (clear cache)

Plugin Settings¶

In Unreal Engine¶

Some settings are available directly in the plugin:

Click the gear icon in Asset Optics header
Available options:
Auto-refresh: Enable/disable automatic data refresh
Refresh interval: How often to sync (30s, 1m, 5m)
Show notifications: Enable/disable in-editor notifications

Syncing Preferences¶

Auto-sync assets: Automatically sync Content Browser changes
Sync on startup: Sync when opening the plugin
Background sync: Keep syncing when plugin is minimized

Best Practices¶

Project Organization¶

Use clear, descriptive project names
One project per game (or major milestone like "Vertical Slice")
Archive completed projects instead of deleting

Security¶

Use unique tokens for each device
Rotate tokens every few months
Review and revoke unused tokens

MCP Usage¶

Start with simple queries to test the connection
Use approval workflow to maintain control
Review AI-generated plans carefully before approving
